Bronze Age....Weekend Art

My family avidly attends the Second Saturday Art Walk in Sacramento whenever possible. We will be there this weekend as a matter of fact. We have a couple of artful daughters, you see. We usually gather a gaggle of girls together and let them wander at will through the mid-town galleries and listen to the local musicians that set up on every street corner. It is a very "happening" spot on the weekends, and a huge party every Second Saturday.

If you love art, like we do, and are in the San Francisco or the Bay Area area this weekend....why not create your own Second Saturday and stop into Gumps? Gumps has been hosting an amazing Bronze Show for the last couple of weeks. If you have not seen it yet, you are missing something special. It runs through March 14th...and the collection is quite brilliant.

Time's a waisting...so hop on over!

  2. Oooo I wish I were in Northern California this weekend - what a perfect Saturday you and your daughters have planned! I'll take Royal Sunshine down to Balboa Park this weekend and peruse the museums there, in your honor! Thanks for making me remember to stop and smell the roses - or look at the bronze as the case may be =)
    Happy weekend, sweet Katie!

  3. Katie, something about bronze sculptures, you just want to rub and touch the patina, the forms!!

  6. This sounds like such fun - for you AND your daughters.

I love seeing parents that can connect with their kids by introducing them to things they love. Too often I meet mom trying to get into what their kids like and focus on being friends (admittedly important). Love that your love for art has trickled down and you all embrace it together! Marija

  8. You have passed on your creativity! There is definately more to art than just painting.

My boys are musical in theirs, but it's fun to have watched it develop.

These sculptures are stunning! Nice weekend.

    Best,
    Michelle
